Breathe Clothing is - Artfully designed, impeccably crafted clothing. Carefully created for each customer, from the initial design, pattern making, through the meticulous construction process, using only exceptional quality linens and other natural materials.

Breathe Clothing is a small, Clothing Design Studio based in the USA.
The foundations of Breathe Clothing are -
Aesthetic & artful design, a clean color palette, exceptional quality natural materials & impeccable craftsmanship.

Beth Peterson designs clothing for women who are confident in their own style, and who enjoy combining pieces in an individual way, to express an attitude or mood, whether it is light, dark, urban, casual, purposeful, even whimsical.

Breathe Clothing embraces a global commitment. While some pieces are handmade here in my studio, other pieces are designed by myself and ethically crafted by women in India earning livable wages. The pieces are not mass produced but made one at a time.

Beth's HISTORY: I am grateful to have grown up in a supportive, artistic family. My Mother a poet, and my Father a Painter. In my 20's my first career was in clothing design. I was trained by a clothing designer and learned my pattern-making and tailoring techniques from her. For a short while, I lived & studied Clothing Design in Paris. For the past 20 years, I have been a mother to 4 children (2 adopted from India). In 1997 I founded and managed an India Adoption & Assistance program for a U.S. non-profit agency. I stepped down from that position in 2012, opened my Etsy Shop and am once again concentrating on clothing design.

"I choose to work with linen mainly because I’ve always loved the way linen drapes and conforms to the body. Working with linen is like sculpting. I also love linen because it is not seasonal, it takes earth tone color beautifully and is soft against the skin."

Breathe Clothing is 'Slow Fashion', and not meant to be seasonal or trendy. My hope is that your Breathe Clothing will become threadbare before you will consider retirement. And that every piece will become a cherished staple in your wardrobe for years to come.

Warmly,
Ms Beth Peterson
